For those who prefer the comforts and ease of the suburbs, University Place has a lot of appeal. This small city overlooking the waters of the Puget Sound features a number of interconnected neighborhoods served by a mixture of small and large businesses, including Trader Joe’s, Harbor Greens and Whole Foods. University Place is particularly well known for its highly rated public school system. Additional community assets include Chambers Bay, a world class public golf course and site of the 2015 US Open, and Charles Wright Academy, a private K-12. Most of the homes in University Place were built in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, but the housing stock here also includes newer construction.
