|We've just received news of House and Senate bills (HB 1408 and SB 5304) moving at breakneck speed to public hearing in the House Transportation Committee on Tuesday, Feb 5th, at 3:30pm.
Companion bills are "to provide cities and towns with the local option to permit static digital outdoor advertising signs along state highways." Read details in Friday's Tacoma News Tribune Political Buzz blog.
In 2011, Historic Tacoma worked with neighborhood councils, business districts and individuals to stop digital billboards here and Tacoma… we now need to work with colleagues across the state to kill this legislation in committee. If this state legislation passes, we could see digital billboards on state roads, like Pacific Hwy., here in Tacoma.

Jake Fey who is vice-chair of the committee. We encourage you to tailor the draft language and speak specifically about Tacoma. Quick action is needed.
